Brian Eno Calls On Public Help to Send Palestinian Solidarity Song to UK Holiday Chart Peak.

A campaign is aiming to propel a traditional song from Palestine to the Christmas number one spot. The effort aims to send support to people in Gaza while also showcasing Palestinian culture and creativity.

A Possibility for Unity and an "Chart Upset"

Renowned figure Brian Eno, who features on the track, stated that the song titled Lullaby represents a moment to stand with Palestinians this festive season. He remarked the potential for an unlikely festive coup.

“That would be amazing if that occurred, yes,” he said. “I won't be completely disappointed if it fails to, Christmas singles are a thing unto themselves.”

Powerful Theme of Dignity and Freedom

Palestinian singer Nai Barghouti, who features in the reimagining of a cultural piece called Yamma Mwel El Hawa, explained the piece's defiant core message.

“It occupies a deeply meaningful spot for a lot of people,” Barghouti explained. “The message is that I would rather die in dignity than live a life without freedom. That is the core idea of the song; we desire to exist a respectful existence that we merit as a people.”

Recording Origins and Contributing Musicians

The song was recorded following a solidarity show held in late summer. Initially planned to be captured during the live event, the piece was omitted from the lengthy event due to the event running long.

The diverse array of musicians contributing to Lullaby features a range of prominent voices from the music world. All took part in the earlier concert, which successfully generated a substantial amount for humanitarian aid.

Final Touches and Availability

Lullaby was brought to life by a group of producers and composers. The song blends a mix of the traditional Arabic lyrics with new English lyrics.

The team running the project have emphasized that their goal is to collect the highest amount for a dedicated fund. These proceeds will be channeled to Palestinian causes through an partnering humanitarian organization.

“We haven't set a rigid aim,” a figure commented. “We’ll go for the maximum achievable. Of course, the greater the amount, the better. It all goes out to Gaza.”

The context in the area was noted for its extreme devastation, with a overwhelming percentage of infrastructure reportedly levelled or seriously harmed.

“In that context, a couple of million won't make a massive dent. But I think what truly matters is above all making this cause better known and showing there’s another side to the story.”

The track is scheduled for release on Friday. Additionally, a video of the solidarity show will be made available for streaming on a major video platform from later in the month.
